This statement explains how accessible the GoJanes website is today, the standard we are working to, what we have not yet tested, and how to tell us if something gets in your way. The GoJanes app, when it opens, will have its own statement.

1. Our commitment

We want everyone to be able to use GoJanes, whatever technology they browse with. Accessibility is part of how the site is designed and built, not a check at the end.

This statement covers the GoJanes website at gojanes.com and www.gojanes.com, including the waitlist sign-up and the contact form. It does not yet cover the GoJanes app. The app is not open to the public, and it will get its own statement, based on its own testing, before it is.

2. The standard we are working to

We are working to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at Level AA, the standard most UK organisations use.

This is a voluntary commitment. As a private company's pre-launch website, gojanes.com is not covered by the Public Sector Bodies (Websites and Mobile Applications) (No. 2) Accessibility Regulations 2018, and we do not claim compliance with them. The legal duty that does apply to us is the Equality Act 2010, which requires us to make reasonable adjustments so that disabled people are not put at a substantial disadvantage. Section 7 explains what that means for you.

3. What is in place today

Each of these is true of the live site as of the date at the top of this page:

• An automated audit with axe-core 4.10 of all ten public pages, in the light and dark versions and at desktop and phone sizes, found no failures of the WCAG 2.2 Level A and AA rules and none of the tool's best-practice rules. Automated tools find only part of what matters; sections 4 and 9 say what they cannot tell us.
• A skip-to-content link at the top of every page, so keyboard users can jump past the navigation.
• A visible focus outline on links, buttons and form fields when you move through a page with the keyboard, in both the light and dark versions of the site.
• One main heading on every page, headings beneath it in order, and every part of a page inside a named landmark, so screen readers and reader modes can navigate by heading or by region.
• Alternative text on informative images, and empty alternative text on purely decorative ones, so a screen reader reads what matters and skips what does not.
• Visible labels on every form field, including the waitlist sign-up and the contact form.
• Respect for your device's reduce-motion setting. With it on, the site's decorative animation and the light-to-dark cross-fade are simply shown still.
• A light and a dark version of the site. Body text, headings, links, labels, navigation and buttons in both were measured against the WCAG AA contrast ratios on 9 September 2026 and meet them.

4. Known limitations

Saying what is not done yet is what makes this statement worth reading. As of the date at the top:

• No testing with assistive technology yet. We have not tested the site with a screen reader (such as NVDA, JAWS or VoiceOver), a screen magnifier or voice control. Our checks so far are automated audits, manual keyboard passes and a review of the accessibility tree by the developer (section 9). A screen-reader session is planned, and this statement will name the exact software and versions once it has been done.
• The waitlist sign-up and the contact form have not been tested end to end with a screen reader, including how their error messages are announced.
• The cookie-consent banner is a third-party component (Finsweet Cookie Consent). Its two buttons are real buttons and can be reached and operated with the keyboard, but we have not tested it with a screen reader.
• The white text over the photograph at the foot of each page sits on a darkened image. We have not measured its contrast against every part of that image.
• The animated pattern on the home page is drawn on a canvas and has no text alternative. It is decorative and carries no information.
• The GoJanes app renders to a canvas. It switches its accessibility tree on at start-up, its colour palette is contrast-tested in both themes and its main screens pass Flutter's tap-target and labelling checks, but it has not yet been tested with a screen reader. The app is outside this statement until it opens to the public.

5. Third-party content

Parts of the site are provided by others: Webflow hosts it, Finsweet provides the cookie banner, and Google Firebase handles the waitlist sign-up. We choose providers with accessibility in mind, but we do not control their code. When we add identity-verification or payment providers, their screens will be theirs. We will assess each one as it is added and list it here.

6. Getting help or reporting a problem

If any part of the site is hard to use, or you need information from it in another format, email legal@gojanes.com with "Accessibility" in the subject line. It helps if you include the address of the page, what you were trying to do, what happened, and the device, browser and any assistive technology you were using.

We will acknowledge your report within 5 business days, and aim to fix the problem or give you a way round it within 28 days, the same timings as our complaints process. Where we reasonably can, we will provide the information you asked for in a format that works for you.

7. Your rights

Under the Equality Act 2010, we must make reasonable adjustments so that a disabled person is not put at a substantial disadvantage when using the site. If you ask for an adjustment and are not happy with our response, the Equality Advisory and Support Service (EASS) gives free advice on discrimination matters: equalityadvisoryservice.com or 0808 800 0082. In Northern Ireland, the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland performs the same role.

8. Who publishes this statement

This statement is published by Louis Mitchell, trading as GoJanes, who operates this site and the waitlist until GoJanes Technologies Ltd is incorporated and registered at Companies House. We will update this section with the company's registered name, company number and registered office as soon as incorporation completes.

9. Testing and review

This statement was prepared on 9 September 2026. On that day the developer ran axe-core 4.10 against all ten public pages in both themes, at desktop and phone sizes, with the cookie banner shown and dismissed; walked every page with the keyboard alone in Chrome and Firefox; reviewed the accessibility tree of both forms; and measured text contrast in both themes. The issues those checks found (four small-text colours, two heading levels, missing landmarks, and the skip link's target on the legal pages) were fixed the same day. The site has not been tested with assistive technology.

We will review this statement when the screen-reader session has been done, before the GoJanes app opens to outside users, before any major change to the site, and at least every 12 months. The date at the top shows when it last changed.
